Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)
Overview
The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) supports the Calaveras Council of Governments (CCOG) by providing technical expertise and coordination on transportation planning and related programs. The TAC serves as a key working group to review projects, plans, and policies before they are considered by the CCOG Board.
TAC meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at the CCOG Conference Room: 444 E Saint Charles St., San Andreas, CA

The TAC is composed of staff representatives from local and regional agencies, including:
- City and County public works and planning departments
- Transit providers
- State and regional partner agencies
Members bring technical knowledge and local expertise to support coordinated decision-making.
The TAC is responsible for:
- Project Review and Coordination
Reviewing transportation projects and programs to ensure consistency with regional plans and priorities. - Technical Input
Providing analysis and recommendations on transportation, infrastructure, and funding opportunities. - Plan Development Support
Assisting in the development and update of regional plans, including transportation improvement programs and long-range planning documents. - Interagency Coordination
Facilitating communication and collaboration among local, state, and regional partners. - Funding and Programming Recommendations
Reviewing and recommending projects for inclusion in funding programs and regional programming documents.
While TAC meetings are primarily technical in nature, coordination with the public and stakeholders is an important part of the planning process. Opportunities for public input are provided through CCOG Board meetings and public outreach efforts.
Social Services Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC)
Overview
The Social Services Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC) is actively involved in the Calaveras Council of Governments (CCOG)’s annual assessment of transit needs. The SSTAC provides input and recommendations to help ensure transportation services meet the needs of the community.
SSTAC meetings are held quarterly in the CCOG Conference Room:
444 E Saint Charles St., San Andreas, CA. All meetings are open to the public, and community participation is encouraged.
In accordance with Section 99238 of the California Public Utilities Code, the SSTAC is responsible for:
- Identifying Transit Needs
Participating annually in the identification of local transit needs. - Reviewing and Recommending Actions
Annually reviewing transit needs and recommending that the CCOG adopt a resolution stating one of the following:- There are no unmet transit needs
- There are no unmet transit needs that are reasonable to meet
- There are unmet transit needs, including those that are reasonable to meet
- Advising on Transportation Issues
Providing guidance to the CCOG on major transit-related issues, including the coordination and consolidation of specialized transportation services.
