    Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ)

    Funding

    The Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ) provides federal funding for transportation projects that help reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality. Eligible projects may include transit improvements, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, traffic flow improvements, ridesharing programs, and other projects that reduce transportation-related emissions.

    Regional Surface Transportation Program (RSTP)

    Funding

    The Regional Surface Transportation Program (RSTP) provides flexible federal transportation funding for eligible regional and local transportation improvements. CCOG uses available RSTP funding to help advance priority projects that improve the safety, condition, and efficiency of the regional transportation system.

  • Senate Bill 125 (SB 125)

    Funding

    Senate Bill 125 provides funding to regional transportation planning agencies to support public transit operations and capital improvements. Funding is distributed through the Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program and the Zero-Emission Transit Capital Program and can help improve transit service, infrastructure, and zero-emission transit investments.

    Senate Bill 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, provides ongoing state funding to improve and maintain California’s transportation system. Funding supports local streets and roads, highways, bridges, transit, active transportation, and other transportation improvements that enhance safety and mobility.

    Funding

    The Active Transportation Program (ATP) provides funding for projects that encourage walking and bicycling, improve safety and mobility for non-motorized users, and expand access to active transportation throughout communities. Eligible projects may include sidewalks, bicycle facilities, pedestrian improvements, trails, and Safe Routes to School projects
