The primary purpose of the SRTP is to guide the development of Calaveras Transit services in order to provide improved mobility for Calaveras County residents and visitors over the next five years.

The Coordinated Plan and Short Range Transit Plan (SRTP) are being updated in concert to combine data collection efforts and carry forward the strategies or programs identified through the Coordinated Plan effort to a recommended transit service plan. The SRTP’s are not funded by the grant; however, by bidding the SRTP’s as part of the Coordinated Plan updates, there is a cost savings because of the overlap between the two plans.

The Calaveras Council of Governments (CCOG) partnered with the neighboring counties, Amador County Transportation Commission (ACTC) and Tuolumne County Transportation Council (TCTC) to apply for and receive grant funding to complete updates to each regions’ Coordinated Plans. The grant was awarded to TCTC, as project lead, and ACTC and CCOG as sub-applicants. Three proposals were received and the selection committee, made up of staff from the three counties, selected AMMA Transit Planning. AMMA Transit Planning will be partnering with Mobility Planners, Inc. and Transit Marketing.

Calaveras Transit last developed a Short Range Transit Plan (SRTP) in 2015/16. You may view the 2016 Short Range Transit Plan below.
